Happy Little Stamper Watercolor Challenge January 2017

Happy New Year!  I hope you have a wonderful time ringing in the new year and are ready for 2018!

I'm excited to be here today with my card for the HLS Watercolor Challenge design team!
This month's challenge is:

Our winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the shop! Check out all the details HERE.

I have been needing some "uplifting" cards with encouraging words for a family member who is going through quite a tough time.  I thought this card would surely lift her spirits!

For my card I used Joy Clair "Hugs and Smiles" stamp set for the flowers and Joy Clair "God's Love" stamp set for the sentiment.  The background was watercolored on tissue paper then adhered to white card stock.  I stamped the sentiment and flowers with my Misti, die cut the circle, then added a heart die cut inside the stamped heart, that I had colored with pink marker and sparkle pen.  I used the same to color the tiny flowers.  Then I added Gelly Roll glitter pen in clear to the black dots on the floral stamp - they actually show up as silver in the pictures.  I added the optional twist this month of "Sequins!"

These sequins are called "Rosie Posie Mix" and they are from my stash.

Llama Happy Birthday

Hello and welcome!  I'm here today with a birthday card for my daughter!  Today is her birthday!!!

She recently went to Peru and sent several pictures of Llamas so I wanted to make her a Llama bday card!  I gave it to her early so it's okay to show it today on my blog.

I used patterned paper from The Paper Studio for a mat behind the top card layer and to cut the Winnie & Walter "birthday" die from.  I cut the top panel with a Wonky rectangle die, and stamped the Llama from Gerda Steiner's "Llama Tell You" and colored him with colored pencils.  I added a little punched heart for the "i" of the birthday die.  The Happy stamp is from a set in my stash but I can't remember which set it's from....I looked through my sets, but couldn't figure it out!
Getting old is frustrating sometimes! Ha!

If I do figure it out, I will come back and fix this post!

Happy Birthday Kaz!  Love you!

It's Your Birthday Money Holder Gift

Hello and welcome!  I'm sharing a gift I made for my daughter's New Years Eve birthday!  I remember the night she was born.  A lot of our friends were on their way to parties, etc. but they were so sweet and they stopped by the hospital to say "hi" and see my sweet little girl!  I thought it was a great day to have a birthday because the whole world will be celebrating her birthday every year!

I had actually already made her a card with Llama's because she likes Llamas.  She recently visited Peru and has several pictures with them on her trip.

I used stamps and the birthday die from Winnie & Walter and patterned paper from Papertrey Ink.  The money holder is MFT's "Lip Balm Die" with their lips balm plastic holders.
After putting the card together, I added a few poinsettias from my stash.

Below is a close up view - I accidentally left off the dot for the "i"....I'm sure it's in my craft cave somewhere!

New Mod Squad Challenge! Warmest Wishes for the New Year

Hi there and welcome!

I'm here today with my card for the Mod Squad Challenge Blog-with a new challenge this week!

This week the challenge is to make a Winter Holiday Card!  Hope you can join the fun and be in the running for a $25 gift card to Kitchen Sink Stamps.

I used the following stamp sets from KSS:
(I used all the trees!)
(I used the cabin, snow drifts and all the trees!)

The cabin set has several steps and look how wonderfully detailed each step makes the image!

The picture on the right is with step 1 and 2 stamped and the picture on the left is with step 3 - Amazing isn't it?

Below on the left, is step 1 of the roof and the picture on the right shows the addition of roof step 2!
I love the amazing detail you can get with these stamp sets!

Here's a close up of the roof with some added sparkle pen!

Sending Lots of Christmas Love

Hello and welcome!  I'm still working on Christmas cards....feels like it's taking longer this year - or maybe I'm just getting older!!!

I have a fun card today that was inspired by a couple of challenges that I'll list below.  I started with a Gina K Designs white heavyweight card base and stamped envelopes from Altenew's "Crafty Friends" stamp set and colored them with markers.  The sentiment is from Altenew's "Happy Mail" stamp set.

I stamped and cut the bear from MFT's "Polar Bear Pals" stamp set and cut him out with my Scan n Cut.  I colored him in the same colors and added some light gray shading on him and under where he would be sitting.  I used a Clarity stencil brush with some Weathered Wood Distress Ink to fill in a light bit of color.  Then I used fun foam and cut a piece to put under the bear and pop him up.  The Santa Hat is from MFT's "Beast Friends" set and I fussy cut it out and colored it then added it to the bear's head.  I cut a blue and a red heart with a CC Designs Autumn die set and added them, then added lots of tiny heart sequins for a little shine and to help it look like the love he is sending is floating upwards.

I had so much fun making this card!  Here's another view:

I plan to enter this card in the following challenges:

Warm Wishes Socks

Hello and welcome!  I have another card today I made with stamps and dies from Concord & 9th's "Cozy Up" set, but this time I paired it with a sentiment from MFT's "Hand Lettered Holiday" stamp set,  The plaid paper is a left over from another card and the quilted embossing folder is a Next Level one from We R Memories.  I colored the cute socks with just a little bit of red alcohol marker.

Stay Cozy Coffee

One more card today for the 2017 Winter Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!

This card was made with Concord & 9th's "Cozy Up" stamps and dies.  I made a similar card to this one last year, you can see it HERE.  I love this set for the wintertime!  The background was made with Echo Park "Magical Plaid" stencil and clear embossing powder.   I used the same stencil on the 2 cups, one with pink ink and the other with blue.  I stamped the sentiment and cut out the circle, then added the steam so it would go off the circle onto the background.  There is only a few more days to enter a card for the hop - it's so much fun, I hope you join in!

You Warm My Heart - Inside Peeking Out

I have another card for the 2017 Winter Coffee Lover's Hop!

The sentiment is from "Tea Time", The Cutting Cafe, by Regina Easter.  Plaid paper is from The Paper Studio.  Image colored with Prismacolor pencils and dies used were from Memory Box and MFT.

Here you can see that I put the image/sentiment and a black outline on the inside of the card:

Warm Snowy Wishes

I have another card here for the 2017 Winter Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!

I used gray snowy paper from The Paper Studio and cut a panel with a large MFT stitched rectangle die.  Then I stamped Neat and Tangled "Warm Wishes" stamp set in the center.  I colored the cup with a couple of Gelly Roll Glitter pens, then adhered it to a darker gray card base.

Here's a close up view of the glitter:
