Happy Little Stampers March Watercolor Challenge -Congrats on Your New Home

Hello and welcome!

I'm here today with a my DT card for the new challenge over at Happy Little Stampers Watercolor Challenge!  It's Anything Goes with an optional twist: Home

For my card I decided to watercolor a background lightly with Distress Inks, then I stamped the sentiment from HLS Simply Said stamp set in dark black ink.  Then I took the house from the Joy Clair Gnome is Where the Heart Is stamp set and stamped it, colored it with Zigs and cut it with my Scan n Cut with a little border.  Then I adhered it to the card and added a few Nuvo Morning Dew Crystal Drops.  A very quick and easy card!

Joy Clair Washed By the Blood - Renew My Spirit

Hello and welcome!  I'm here today featuring the new Joy Clair's Washed by the Blood stamp set!
This set is full of great images, I decided to make a card with it today.

Here's the new set:

I started by stamping the tub, the "Renew My Spirit" sentiment, and lots of bubbles on white card stock.  I colored the images with Spectrum Noir markers, then die cut it out with a MFT scalloped stitched rectangle die.

I mounted that on a black mat, then chose plaid patterned paper from Papertrey Ink.  I decided to mat the plaid to black too, then put it together on the white card base.

I used foam tape on the back of the tub panel to give it some dimension.

Lastly I added a thin bow die cut from Simon Says Stamp and some sparkle pen to the water.
And here's my finished card using the new Joy Clair Washed by the Blood stamp set!

Thanks for Everything - Thank you cards

Hello and welcome!

This past Saturday, I had a lot of parent volunteers helping with an event we hosted at the school that I work at part-time.  I wanted to send them all thank you cards so I used this brand new set from "Happy Little Stampers" called "Dandelion Wishes."  I stamped directly on patterned paper from PapertreyInk.  (plaids and dots)

Here are a few more views:

We couldn't have done it without these parent helpers!
I really appreciate all their support and work!

Have a great week!

I'll be off judging lots of UIL music contests here in North Texas over the next few weeks, so if you don't see much crafting coming out of the cave, this is why!

Just Us Girls Photo Week Challenge #429 - Happy Birthday

Hello and welcome!  I'm here today with my DT card for the Just Us Girls new challenge this week - Photo Week!

Here's the inpiration photo chosen by Lisa!
Isn't it gorgeous?

Be sure to stop by the blog here: to see our guest designer, Tenia and the rest of the DT's inspiration for you!

I started with a piece of card stock and inked it with all kinds of purples and yellows (Distress Inks) and then die cut these SSS stitched daisies from it.  I also splattered white paint and Perfect Pearls water all over the panel before I die cut it.  I cut the flowers out of the purple sections and the centers from the yellow sections.  Here's a closer view of the flowers:

Then I popped everything up on foam tape and stamped the sentiment from SSS Thoughtful Messages stamp set.  A quick and easy card!

Special Delivery Baby Card

Hello and welcome!

I wanted to enter the Inky Paws Challenge but I don't have baby stamps from Newton's Nook so I had to be creative and come up with something using NN stamps!

I used plaid paper in my fav color and stamped "special delivery" all over it - that stamp is from Newton's Nook's "Happy Mail" set.  I cut the "B-A-B-Y" out with Altenew's In-Line Alphabet dies.  The little duck and frog were fussy cut from the Newton's Nook set:  Rainy Day stamp set.

I colored them with Spectrum Noir markers and used the same markers to color the edge of the card base before adhering the plaid panel to the card base.

I added thin strips of brown card stock to outline the fence board paper ribbon.  It's kind of a busy card for me as I usually go more CAS in my designs, but I was truly struggling to come up with a baby card with the limited number of sets I actually have from NN!  I may try it again with a less busy look - we'll see if I have time to do that!

Donut Thanks

Ok, so there's a little story behind this card I made today.  I work part time teaching orchestra at a Catholic HS nearby and once a month my HS students play at the All School Mass along with the choir.  It's a lot of work for these kids to learn extra music for these masses, so after each Mass, I have been buying them donuts from Dunkin' Donuts as a way to say thank you for all your extra work!

I've been doing it for quite some time and the guy at the donut shop always recognizes me when I call.  He makes the 3 dozen donuts I pick up, so special each time for the kids.  In Oct., he make them orange and black - all Halloween looking and Christmas - green and red -looking in December.  Well this month, when we opened the boxes, all the donuts were heart shaped with pink and red frosting.  The kids are always so excited to see what he has done for them.  They wanted to send him a thank you card, so I told them I would make one and they could all sign it and I'll bring it to him when I pick up next month's donuts.

So here is our "Donut Thank You" card to give to a person who really goes above and beyond his job's requirement to make someone else's day special.

People like this are what makes the world a better place!

Masculine THX!

Hello and welcome!

Today I have a CAS masculine thank you card for you made with Concord & 9th's "Tree Hugs" stamp set, watercolored with Derwent Inktense pencils and a watercolor brush.  I stamped all images in Staz-On brown ink then watercolored them, then splattered light and dark brown watercolor on the finished product.  The hearts were colored with Derwent and Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen.

Thanks for Everything Gentle Leaves

Hello, welcome, and happy Sunday!  I hope your weekend has been great so far!

I made this card with a few challenges in mind and to build up my stash of thank you cards.

Here's how I made this card.  Actually I started out by die cutting the leaves die from Poppy Stamps (Gentle Leaf Collage) to use as a stencil and was inking through this cut stencil with Aged Mahogany and Evergreen Bough Distress Inks, when I realized I liked the look of the stencil piece I had been inking better than the piece underneath it I was trying to stencil.  So I cut the inked up stencil piece into a rectangle and put black paper behind it.  I splattered the panel and the leftover pieces of the panel with water and cut the inside Thanks die (Scripty Thanks from SSS) and the outline with black.  I put them together and placed them all using the sketch from the challenge below.  To finish it off I added black enamel dots.

Flowers with Plaid Background

Hello and welcome!  My last card for today was made with Altenew's Wild Hibiscus stamp set.  I stamped the flowers and leaves and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers, then arranged them on a piece plaid paper from Papertry Ink.  Some flowers are popped up for dimension, and other are adhered flat on the paper.  I added the heat embossed sentiment from Hero Arts and put the finished panel on a top folding card base.  Lastly  I added black enamel dots on the flower centers.

Here's a closer view and a few more pictures:
