Happy Mail Watercolor

I have a busy week ahead and wanted to use today to craft and have some fun before all the chaos begins!  I'm so lucky to have the opportunity to do my crafting and still work semi-part time in music education since I retired!

Playing today with a new set I won recently in a challenge over at Cut It Up Challenge!  I've had my eye on this adorable "Happy Mail" set from Newton's Nook so it was my first choice to use my winning gc on!  Thanks so much Cut It Up and Newton's Nook!

I used the colors for the Sunday Stamps Challenge to watercolor the heat embossed stamped image and then cut a few cross-stitched dies from my stash.  The peach color comes from Hero Arts Mid Tone Shadow Ink in peach swiped down white card stock.  I also used washi tape, gem tape, and twine from my stash.  All the card stock is from Gina K. Designs.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

You + Me Tree Hugs

My last card for the day was made with Concord & 9th's "Tree Hugs", wood vellum from Hero Arts, washi tape, pink and white card stock from Reverse Confetti, and clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

I'll be entering this in the following challenges:

(I don't have any chalkboard items so I took the "you & me"
off the top of the cupcake for inspiration.)

Some Chevron Bunny

Today I made my first Easter card for the year with the new Simon Says Stamp March 2017 kit.  The background was made with Memory Box's "Chic Chevron Stencil" and Hero Arts inks in the colors for the CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge this week.  The cute bunny was colored with a water brush and Zig Clean Color Markers.  The bunny, hearts and sentiment all came from the included SSS stamp set "Some Bunny".  I added Wink of Stella to parts of the bunny but it's hard to see it.  You can see it better in the collage of pictures below.
Such an adorable stamp set....I will be making a lot of Easter cards with this set!

Ombre Spring Brights on Kraft

I was playing with the new Hero Arts Ink "Ombre Spring Brights" and tried it on some kraft card stock and I really liked the way it looked.  (I swiped it down the card stock.)  After it dried, I cut a Hero Arts Swallowtail Fancy Butterfly die out of it and another one from black fun foam and mounted it in the opening.  I added some white nuvo drops on the butterfly and two this strips of black card stock dotted with a white paint maker.  I added the sentiment from Hero Arts Acts of Kindness stamp set in Hero Arts black dye ink.

Miss You Dahlia

Having fun in the cave today playing with some new Hero Arts goodies!  I used the new Artistic Dahlia rubber stamp and some woodgrain vellum, both are new items from Hero Arts.  I stamped the Dahlia in Hero Arts black dye in and embossed it in clear, then colored it with Primsacolor pencils and Gamsol, then fussy cut it out.  I put it on the vellum after dragging a brown Distress Ink over the vellum.  The sentiment is also from Hero Arts "Hello Stamp and Cut" set, heat embossed in white on black card stock.  The card base is white card stock from Gina K Designs.

Mod Squad Geometric Challenge

Hi, I'm over at the Mod Squad Challenge Blog today with a new challenge - Geometric!
I made both of these cards using Altenew's Geometric Flowers stamp set.

For the flowers, I used silver and white embossing powders, then I used bleach to paint some of the parts of the flowers on the card on the left.  The flower on the right card was colored with Primacolor pencils and Gamsol and Wink of Stella.  I added pearls and diamond to both cards after putting them together.  I used some edge dies from MFT and a strip of silver glitter paper for an accent.

I hope you will find time to play along so you can have a chance to win a $25 gift card to Tupelo Designs, LLC and they have free shipping too!  So come on over to the Mod Squad Challenge Blog and check it out!  HERE
