Hero Arts Artistic Dahlia & Wonderful Stamp & Cut - Guest @ A2Z Scrapbooking!

Hello and welcome!  I'm so honored to be guesting at a2zscrapbooking today!

a2zscrapbooking has such a special place in my heart as not only do they have a great store with super fast shipping and amazing service, they are run completely by volunteers so they can raise funds for Celiac and Behcets awareness!  (I have a dear family member with Celiac's disease so their cause is dear to my heart!)  In addition, a2z was the very first design team I was on.  They have such a super supportive team and I learned a lot from these wonderfully talented ladies and made some amazing friends too!  So thank you for the invite to guest with you today!

For my card today I used some of my favorite Hero Arts supplies:

The dahlia comes as a wood rubber stamp and there are additional dies you can buy, called Hero Arts Artistic Dahlia frame cuts.  I didn't use the dies for this project as I wanted to work on my coloring to see if I could get a little more dimension, coloring with Zig Clean Color markers on kraft card stock and I need to mail this card, so the flatter the better!   But the frame cuts, when you use them, are amazing because it cuts the flower into 3 parts so you can use foam tape or squares to pop them up!  Or you can just use one or 2 of the dies, so many possibilities.  The Hero Arts Wonderful "Stamp & Cut" dies cut out both different sizes of the word stamps, however, I wanted a white border, so I cut out around the larger word die to get an even bigger "wonderful" word die.

In addition to the Hero Arts supplies used, I used:
Versafine ink
Dotted curved border die from Poppy Stamps

Here's one last view:

Thanks so much to a2z  for inviting me to guest design today!
 I'm so honored!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Cards for DFW Honor Flight #39 for Veterans

Hello and welcome!

I'm here today with a pile of cards I made for the DFW Honor Flight veterans who are going on  flight #39, September 21-22.  This is a wonderful program that takes veterans, free of charge, on a trip to Washington to visit the memorials built in their honor.  It's DFW Honor Flight's mission to let the veterans know that they are not forgotten and how much we appreciate their service.

On their flight, they have a mail call and deliver a box of mail (and kleenex) from family, friends, and the general public, etc. who have written to them to thank them for their service.

Some veterans don't have a lot of mail, so they love for the public to help out and to send thank you notes, cards, etc. so that everyone gets lots of mail on the flight's mail call.

I made a pile of cards and will take them to the school where I work part time and have the kids write little notes inside them for the veterans.

If you would like to help out, here's the information:

For this flight, the cards need to be received by Friday September 14th.

Here's another picture of my cards:

The stamp set I used to make these is Joy Clair's "Heroes" stamp set.

A Prayer of Hope - Foiled Flowers and Leaves

Hello and welcome!

I have been playing with foil today and I made this card for my encouragement stash.

First I took a floral stencil and used Deco Foil transfer gel with it.  After it dried I foiled the flowers in pink and the rest in turquoise.  I used some dies from my stash and cut the elements for the card out, then heat embossed the sentiment from the new Joy Clair Set "Heartfelt Sympathy".  The sentiment is actually longer than that but I only used 1/2 of it on my card.

Here's another view of foiling up close:

And here are 2 more views where you don't see the shine of the foil:

Happy Birthday Watercolor with Gold and Stripes

Hello and welcome!
I'm here today with a card I made after watching Erum Tasneen's video on the Altenew August Card Challenge blog.  I am such a fan of her creations and love to watch her videos and learn from such a master!  I pretty much followed along the video and came up with this creation.  The main difference is hers of course is PERFECT in every way, and I added a thicker black sentiment panel and matted the watercolor splattered background with a black edge and an additional striped edge.

I am terrible with splatters, especially black ones, so I did use watercolor and brushes to put the color splatters on, but most of the black ones were made with by using partial stamping of the Altenew stamp called "Snowing".

Here's a closer view of my card:

Supplies used were:

Arches Cold Pressed watercolor paper
Kuretake watercolors, waterbrush
Zig Clean Color markers, waterbrush
Black and white card stock from Gina K Designs
Striped paper from Papertrey Ink
Altenew "Birthday Greetings" sentiment with white embossing powder
Altenew "Snowing" stamp
Altenew Persian Motifs stamp set
Versafine Ink
Wow Gold embossing powder
Studio Katie water droplets
Foam tape and liquid adhesives

Joy Clair Anniversary Blog Hop! Come Join the Fun!

Hello and welcome!  I'm here today with a post celebrating all things Joy Clair!

It's their 4th anniversary and this company is totally amazing in so many ways!  Their stamps are such high quality and stamp so perfectly EVERY time.  I fell in love with them when I bought my very first set!

Over the past 4 years, there have been lots of releases with so many wonderful sets.  Sets to Bible journal with, and sets for just about any occasion or theme.  There are cute ones, serious ones, spiritual ones, gorgeous ones - you name it - you can find exactly what you are looking for in the Joy Clair store.

I feel so honored to be a member of their design team and was so happy to be selected to the 2018 team!  I have had so much fun working with their products.  I especially love that you don't have to buy dies because every set you buy comes automatically with a set of SVG files to cut the images and sentiments with.  That saves a TON of money!

Come hope along with the whole team.  Our team has prepared some gorgeous, fun and creative inspiration for you and of course, there are prizes to be one AND a huge sale!

Take advantage of the 30% off sale on all products through the end of the month!
