It's a Special Day - Music Card

Hello and welcome!  Happy Easter everyone!

What a beautiful day it is today!

I have a card for you today that I made using a new to me music stamp that my dear friend Nancy sent to me.  She is so kind and sent me a whole box of music related stamps because she knows I'm a music teacher and LOVE music stamps!  What a sweet and kind person!  I've had so much fun playing with them!

I took this really large stamp by Troy Crisswell and Stamps Happen, Inc.:

and stamped it on some white card stock in Memento Black ink.  I took my alcohol markers and colored the image then cut out the center with a Spellbinders Deckled Rectangle die.

I used my favorite technique of making a popped up frame around the image with a larger rectangle die from the same set.  I embossed a background piece with a Sizzix Floral embossing folder by Tim Holtz Alterations and inked it with brown Distress Ink.

Then I popped up the top frame opening piece with foam tape above the focal image.  I added the sentiment from Altenew's Persian Motifs stamp set in Staz-On brown ink.

Here's a few more views:

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  10. First up - great to have a box of music stamps! Secondly - what a fabulous card! I love that contrast between the almost vintage collage look of your focal point and the clean front. You've so cleverly washed out colour from intervening layer leading out from the centre. Thanks so much for joining us at The Paper Players this week.
