Just Us Girls Wild Card Week - #434 CAS Challenge

Hello and welcome!  I'm here today hosting the new Just Us Girls Challenge, and I chose CAS - Clean and Simple!   I hope you can join in this month for a chance to win the prize and a chance to be invited to guest design in the future!  Here's our challenge graphic:

Here's how I made my card:

I used Yupo paper and alcohol inks to make a piece with blues and greens and then dried it with my heat too.  I cut Lil' Inkers dies:  Scalloped Border and Happy Birthday Border from the Yupo paper.  I also cut one Happy Birthday from white so I could piece the Yupo one inside the white opening.  I adhered it all to a Gina K Designs heavy weight card base and added Nuvo Jewel drops in yellow and green to the center circles of the scallops.  Quick and easy!

Some Bunny Far Away

Hello, welcome and happy Friday!  Hope your weekend is off to a great start!

I have a cute card today using products from MFT and Simon Says Stamp.  I cut the top panel with both MFT Stitched rectangle die and the MFT Peekaboo window die, then inked the background inside the peekaboo window with Distress Inks and a cloud mask that I made.  I stamped and heat embossed the bunny buddies from MFT Snuggle Bunnies, then watercolored them with Zig Clean Color Markers.  I popped them up over the window with different thicknesses of foam tape and then added the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's Some Bunny stamp set.  Lastly I mounted the top panel on the card base and added a few Nuvo Jewel drops in pink and blue.

DFW Honor Flight - Thank you cards!

Hello and welcome my crafty friends!  Here's a pile of cards I made and brought to school today for my students to write small notes of "thanks" to the DFW veterans who will be taking their Honor Flight this coming spring.  This pile has the finished ones in it, the rest were in the hands of my sweet students as they finished writing words of gratitude and encouragement to our dear veterans. It was a joy to read what they wrote and I'm sure each one will be very meaningful to the vets.

I heard recently that on the Honor Flights for the veterans that they do a "mail call" on the plane while they are on their flight and deliver thank you mail to each veteran.  Sometimes a veteran may not get much or any in his/her "mail call" and that broke my heart.  My dad was a veteran and didn't live long enough for his Honor Flight, but I do remember going to USAF air shows with him after he retired.  He'd had a stroke and was in a wheelchair but he was always so happy to see the planes and how much respect the younger officers had for him.  At the air shows he was treated so kindly and shown the utmost respect by all of the men in uniform.

I want these veterans and their families to know how much we appreciate all they have done for us.

So if you are so inclined - here's the information about the DFW Honor Flights:
If you can help out by sending mail, for the first flight, cards and letters need to be received by April 20th and the 2nd flight by June 1st.

You can also check in your town and/or area where you live to see if they have an Honor Flight group.  I searched on Google, and the DFW FB page popped up.  I contact them through FB and they sent me all the information.

Let's make sure no veteran ever has little or no mail at "mail call" on their Honor Flight!

Make a Wish Dandelion

I used a frame die to ink inside with light blue Distress Ink, then used cloud stencils made from border dies to make the background sky.  I stamped the dandelions from Joy Clair "Spring Time Flowers" and then added the sentiment from Happy Little Stampers "Dandelion Wishes" stamp set.

I matted the piece on black then on a card base.

In this picture you can see up close, the sparkle of the glitter Nuvo drops on the dandelion.

Joy Clair Scriptures of Love and New Baby Cards

Hello and welcome!  We are collaborating with My Sweet Petunia this month showcasing the Mini Misti and I'm so excited to share my love of this product with you!  Check out the details HERE!   This stamping tool has made such a huge difference in the world of stamping!

For the month of March, make sure you leave comments on both the collaborative posts (that have this collaborative graphic below) on both the My Sweet Petunia Blog and the Joy Clair Blog and don't forget to comment on both their design team's blogs) for chances to win prizes!

I'm also showcasing the new stamp set from the latest Joy Clair release - Scriptures of Love for my first project today.  This set has really pretty font and wonderful verses of love from the Word.  Here's a good look at the stamp set:

I decided to make a card for a family member who is going through some tough times right now.
I took a We R Memories Next level heart embossing folder and embossed a piece of white card stock.  Then I took a Hero Arts Soft Pink Shadow ink inked and rubbed it all over the embossed paper.  It looks darker in the picture below because those shadow inks go on splotchy at first, but even out to a really soft pretty shade when dried.

I got out my Mini Misti and started stamping the verses so I could decide which one of them would work best for my card.  I'm so glad I did because I didn't get a good first impression with my stamping because my ink pad was dry!  So I re-inked it and because I still had the stamp in the Mini Misti, I was able to re-stamp it exactly over the first try!  Love that you can do the with the Mini Misti!  After stamping several verses, I decided on "I love you at your darkest" Romans 5:8

I used a window die from MFT in the bottom right corner and put the sentiment behind the opening.  Then I trimmed the embossed panel down a little and adhered it to the top left corner of a top folding white card base.

For the final touch, I added a thin black bow (SSS die) in the window's corner.
Here's my completed card:

Now on to my 2nd project for today!

For these cards I used the Joy Clair new release set:  New Baby

How cute are these images?

So many cute sentiments and images give you limitless possibilities for cards and projects!

Here's how I made my cards.  I took patterned paper from Echo Park and Papertrey Ink and stamped the onsie on lots of different prints.  I cut them out, then I chose sentiments for the fronts of them.

I laid them out on the card front so that I could still see the words on the front of the onesies, and then stamped "Congrats on your" at the top with my Mini Misti.

Then I took some of the same papers and cut thin strips for the sides of the card.
The card on the left was made with all Papertrey Ink papers, and the card on the right with Echo Park papers.

Here's my finished cards:

The Color by Faith Collection of stamps from Joy Clair has a large selection of stamps that work perfectly for bible journaling, card making and scrapbooking too!  Be sure to check out all of the possibilities HERE.  This set I used today, Scriptures of Love, is really perfect for so many projects!
