Happy Little Stampers February Watercolour Challenge


Hello and welcome!  Today's card is my DT card for the new challenge over at Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge.  It's Anything Goes with an optional twist of hearts!

I water colored a large piece of Strathmore watercolor paper and cut it down to A2 card size (4.25" by 5.5") then used the Simon Says Stamp "Heart Breeze" die to cut the heart pattern out.  I saved all those little hearts for another project that I will post in a few days!  I used Joy Clair "Music Maker" stamp set for the sentiments and the piano keyboard border.  I love this stamp set - probably because my career was music!  It has some of the neatest music images and I just love it!  I added a tiny strip of black card stock at the bottom of the piano keyboard to give it a little more definition.  I backed the watercolor paper with black card stock and then filled in the tiny holes with Nuvo glitter drops for some shine.  They actually look like little diamonds when the light hits it.  You can't really see it in the picture.  The sentiment is so perfect for this month:  "Love, You make my Soul Sing."  So pretty and I love the font too!  Lastly I adhered it to a Gina K Designs card base and rounded the right side corners.

    This piano keyboard looks so beautiful! The black base that breaks through the cut hearts beautifully fits with it. The color pink adds delicacy to the card, beautifully softens it.

    Hi Angie, I love the sentiment. The rest of the card is the image of that sentiment, beautifully created and wonderfully executed. Love the colours, the keyboard, and of course that beautiful die-cut.
