Hummingbird Joy with Memory Box Dies

 

Hello and welcome, today I have a holiday card featuring the new Layered Hummingbird, Classic Pine Needle Springs and Brilliant Joy dies from the latest release.  I combined it with a previously released die called Forest Pine Branch.

Here's a closer look:

I cut the bird, branch and some of the pine sprigs from white card stock and then I cut more sprigs from 2 different colors from the Fresh Aqua paper pack.  I stacked one white and one of each of the other two aqua colors and glued them together at the base stem slightly offset from each other.  I wanted the branches to seem really full so by doing this it gives a lot more dimension and texture to the whole card.  

I colored the branch and bird with alcohol markers.  The original branch die had pine springs on it but I cut them off to use the springs from the new classic set of dies.  I added the branch with the new tri-stacked sprigs and then popped the bird up on the branch.  Here's another look:

The Joy die cut was cut from white and black glitter paper, the black is from the Glitzy Glitter pack and the white is from the Vintage Pastel Glitter pack.  I cut the background die from the black and the other die from the white.  This die is very cool because it also has an outline inside the 2nd word die.  So when you cut both dies from 2 different colored papers, you can make a combination of three complete word dies which saves lots of time, and you have 2 extra word dies to use on other cards.  One tip I have if you need to glue something to the glitter paper, it's a lot easier to use Glossy Accents and it adheres with a much more permanent bond.
