Hello You Are Special with Memory Box

Hello and welcome!  I'm up on the Memory Box blog today with this mini slimline card inspired by my teammate Laura.  She had shared a gorgeous card with an inked background and white die cuts and it sparked an idea to combine dies from the latest release with stem dies from previous releases.

Here's a close up look at my card:

I used the following dies to create the bottom of my card.  On some of the dies, I just used a leaf or two, or a shortened piece of one of the stems to fill in open spaces on my design.

And for my sentiment I used the Birch Press Design CL8155 Crystal Lingo

All of the stems and dies were cut from watercolor card stock, also from Memory Box.

To make the background I cut a piece of card stock 3" by 6" and ink blended the following Distress Oxide Inks:  Fossilized Amber, Peacock Feathers, Evergreen Bough, and Dried Marigold.

Once it was dry, I splatted it with black paint, then began to assembly my card.

Often while making this card I stopped to pictures of where I put the stems and then re-arrange them and take another picture.  By looking at the pictures on my phone, it helps me see what layouts I like and which look odd to me.  I do this a lot when I design cards because it really helps to step back and look at it that way.  Next, I added the inked panel to a 6.5" by 7" (score this side at 3.5") card base with foam tape.

Lastly I added lots of Fairy Jewels, also from Memory Box.  I love the gems and jewels from Memory Box as they come in so many variety of colors in one pack and they also have clear ones too.
