With Love on Your Birthday!

Hello and welcome!  Today I have a super simple and easy embossed card using the new "Blooming Sweet Pea" 3D embossing folder.  I needed a birthday card really quick and my stash was depleted so I made this one.

When you need a quick and easy card for upcoming birthday or wedding or really any occasion, this technique always seems to turn out beautifully and takes very little time.

Here's another look at the detail you can get with these amazing 3D folders.

All you do to create this look is to take a brayer, I used a Tim Holtz brayer and roll it on your Distress Oxide ink pad.  I used  "Salvaged Patina" pad and rolled the ink onto the debossed (indented) side.

You do need to roll quite a bit on there and then look carefully at it before putting the card stock in to make sure the ink is spread evenly with no lines or hard edges showing

I roll the ink firmly at first in both directions on the debossed side and then when it's nice and inky, I lighten up the pressure I'm using as I'm rolling to help smooth it out evenly.

Here's another close up view.  I just love all the detail in this folder and the white against the Salvaged Patina is one of my favorite combinations.

The sentiment is from "Reverse Big and Little Words" stamp set, stamped in black on white card stock.

I cut it into a little banner with scissors.

I hope you will try this technique if you haven't.  I have used regular embossing folders and you get really nice results too.  I do love the 3D folders because they have a lot more detail and these Memory Box ones are not only beautiful, they are so well made and really emboss well!
