Hello and welcome!
I made 2 cards today using dies from Pinkfresh Studio and Mama Elephant along with Simon Says Stamp inks, vellum, and sentiment strips from Simon Says Stamp.
I have to say that I made the leap and purchased a Gemini Junior since my electric Big Shot bit the dust! I am thrilled with it and so I went a little crazy cutting some of my most intricate dies.
It works great and I'm so happy I was able to get it.
What's even better is I found it on Facebook Marketplace, it was brand new, never used and came with a lot of extra stuff for a really reasonable price. I lucked out for sure!
I took a lot of pictures because I wanted to show the see through of the vellum when the card is opened and the white background look when the card is closed.
I cut the sentiment strip up and only used part of it for my first card.
I stacked the die layering dies from Pinkfresh Studio and then attached them to a piece of vellum with vellum tape. I took a folded card base and used the large Mama Elephant scalloped frame die (linked below with all my other supplies) to cut most of the front of the card away. (I saved the actual frame and inside die cut for a later card.) It left a very thin edge for me to adhere the stacked die cut/vellum panel to the top of the card. Now you can see right through the front!
This one shows it completely open:
Now for my 2nd card, I reversed the cuts of the layering dies, using a rainbow panel for the top die and white for the bottom die. I made it the same way by cutting out the top of the front of the card leaving just a little edge and then adhering the vellum panel with stacked dies to the front edges.
Here's a look of this second card opened:
And one more close up of it closed.
Here's a look at both card side by side and you can see the frame die I used to cut the large opening in the front of the card.
I hope you enjoyed my die-cutting frenzy - I've been having lots of fun playing in the cave!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
I will enter the first card in:

ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards. I'm glad you were able to get the Gemini Jr. It is wonderful and does an amazing job on these intricate dies. Just remember to flip your cutting plates to keep them from bowing too much.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are spectacular, Angie. I didn't realize they were see through at first. What a great idea!
