Hello and welcome!
I've been experimenting with watercoloring on watercolor paper AFTER dry embossing it. After it dries, I've added metallic paste on top of the embossed edges. I plan to use these pieces and come up with a few new card designs using these techniques. Above is the first one.
On this one, I used Kuretake pearlescent watercolor in light blue after I embossed the 140 lb. watercolor paper with a Darice embossing folder called "Henna". Then I took a small stitched rectangle die from my stash and cut out a small rectangle of the blue watercolored paper to use on my card. I also cut it out of a white panel and inserted the blue piece inside the opening.
I stamped the sentiment from Inspired by Stamping "Wishing You" stamp set, in Versafine black ink and then added a partial Memory Box die cut stemming out of the curve of the sentiment. I added blue Nuvo Jewel drops to the center of the flowers and then added a strip of black and white striped paper on the diagonal above the die cut.
I plan to use the other panels I made for other cards so be on the lookout for more cards using this technique: 1) dry emboss thick watercolor paper 2) watercolor the embossed piece 3) rub metallic paste on the top of the embossed, watercolored piece once it is dry.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
