Happy Little Stampers August Watercolor Challenge - Happy Birthday Watercolor

Hello and welcome!

I'm here today with my design team card for the new August Watercolor challenge over at Happy Little Stampers!  Here's the graphic:

You don't have to do the optional twist, only if you want to!  I hope you have a chance to join us this month!    Check out the challenge post to see all the DT inspiration HERE!

To make my card I stamped the floral image from Simon Says Stamp in Versafine Clair ink on watercolor paper.  Then I added water with a paint brush around the edges of the image.  Next I used Distress Inks with the same paint brush and loosely watercolored the images.  I let it dry on it's own and then added some Zig Clean Color Markers and a white get pen to shade the image.  Next I added the sentiment from the same set.  Lastly I added a black border around the image with a black marker.

Here's a couple more pictures from different angles:

I hope you have a chance to participate-can't wait to see what you make!

Thanks for stopping by!

I will enter this in:

  1. This is just gorgeous Angie and I love how you got the soft coloured borders around the flowers - I'm going to try that technique!

  2. Such a beautiful floral design and the way you colored them is fantastic. I love the soft colors and I wish I had the time to get some water coloring in myself...but crafting time is very limited this week.

  4. Angie, your card is stunning! What a gorgeous image you've stamped and watercoloured. I love the wonderful details you've added after you've completed the colouring. The white gel pen and Zig markers helped to give dimension to the flowers. Beautifully done! Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
