Furry and Bright

Hello and welcome!  I played in the cave today and made this holiday card.

The stamps are from MFT's "Happy Pawlidays" stamp set - I just love the cute dogs in this set!
I stamped the pup, then masked him off and blended lots of Distress Inks in greens, blues and purples.  I colored the sweet pup with Prismacolor pencils and gambol, then added Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen his nose and white parts of his hat.

I cut the window with MFT's "Rectangle Peek-a-Boo Window" and trimmed the top panel down on the sides.  I inked blended the edges of the card base with more inks, then adhered the window panel to the card base.  Lastly I added 3 snowflake sequins from my stash.

You are Wonderful in Gold and Copper

I played in the cave today and had the Rubbernecker Gold and Copper Challenge in mind.

I used a new to me Winnie and Walter stencil called Peppermint Zone with Versamark Ink and gold and copper embossing powder.  Then I trimmed the panel with a die from Wplus9 Sunshine Layers die set and matted it on a black panel, then added it all to a Gina K Designs heavy base card stock card base.  I stamped the sentiment "you are" from Hero Arts Wonderful Stamp and Cut and also cut a lot of "wonderful" die cuts in black and gold and stacked them all up on each other for dimension.

Just Us Girls Photo Week - #417

Hi there!  This week Judy is hosting photo week and she has chosen a wonderfully colorful picture!

Don't forget to stop by the JUGS blog to see Karola, our guest designer, and all the DT inspiration!

I used Art C Stamp and Cut feathers dies on some watercolor paper that I watercolored with Distress Inks.  The sentiment is from Gina K Designs "Warm Spring Wishes" stamp set.  I finished it off by rounding the two bottom corners!

Just a reminder: If you win Chic of the Week in any of our October challenges, you are in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of January!  We can't wait to see what you create for Just Us Girls! Please limit your entries to 3.

Boo in Black and White

Hello and welcome!
I made a couple of Halloween cards today and here is the first one, made with very few supplies.

I used only black and white, spider web washi tape, and Hero Arts "Boo Stamp and Cut".
The ghosts are cut through the top part of the card and their faces are stamped on the inside.

Here's my 2nd card for today made with floral stamps from Waffle Flower "Leafy" and "Enveloper Kindness" and shadow inks from Hero Arts.  The sentiment is from Heidi Swapp and the stitched lines are "Stitching Lines" from Ellen Hutson.  I finished it off by added sparkle pen to the flowers and some Nuvo Jewel drops on the stamin and flower centers.   Here are a few more views:

Love Makes a Home

Hello and welcome!  I played for a short while in the cave today and made this card.  I used stamps from the Jane's Doodles "Home Sweet Home" set.  The very faint, light, background was made with Memory Box Textured Distressed Grid stencil and a Clarity stencil brush and Distress Ink.  I colored the house with Zigs and a water brush and added lines to look like siding stripes and sparkle pen to the windows.  The tiny heart is from Paper Smooches "Hearts" die.

Here's a close up to see the sparkle on the windows:

In case you can't figure out the movie - it's my favorite movie from ALL time:
"Housesitter" with Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn.  I think it's one of the funniest movies EVER!

Here's Steve Martin's house from the movie...

Recipe for Happiness

Hello and welcome!  I had just a little bit of time to play in the cave today and I organized some supplies and then made this black and white card with a new set.

I've had the MFT "Recipe for Happiness" on my wish list forever and thanks to Darnell and her wonderful NBUS challenge, I won a gift card and was able to get this set.  Maybe because I am 100% Italian, this set just speaks to me!  I saw it used in a challenge this summer and fell in love with it!

I kept everything in shades of black and white (except his skin tone) so I could enter it in a couple of challenges.  I stamped quite a few more of these guys so I could color them while I watch TV.

I colored this guy with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol, then trimmed the top panel down, added striped washi tape and a thin black strip to each side.

Here's a another view: (Yes, he's making my fav - chocolate chip cookies!!!)

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!

Comforting hugs

Hello and welcome!  I'm back from a visit to Southern California to see relatives and even though it was a wonderful visit, it's always nice to be home!

I played a little in the cave between loads of laundry today and came up with this card using Simon Says Stamp "Handwritten Floral Greetings" stamp set.  I inked a rectangle and then stamped the sentiments and leaves inside and colored them with Zigs and a water brush.  I colored a few extra ones and popped them up inside the frame.  The scalloped frame is also popped up on foam tape then I added lots of Spectrum Noir sparkle pen to the framed edge.  The leaves were outlined in Gelly Roll Glitter Pen for some sparkle.  I tried to capture it in the picture below:
