Dimensional Birthday Balloons

Hello and welcome to my blog!  This card was made with a technique featured in Jennifer McGuire's latest video "Layered Die Cuts" where she uses the negative space of a die to stack die cuts up several layers high, then added lots of shine and dimension to them.  Here's a link to that video:  VIDEO

and here's some more views of the card from different angles....

I used Gina K Designs white card stock and her new foilable patterned paper pack "Petite Patterns" foiled in Deco Foil Teal Foil, and the Party Balloons die from Seredipity Stamps.  (Thanks so much to Serendipity Stamps for this awesome die - I won a gc to SS recently in a challenge and I bought this die with it!)

I cut several layers of the dies and colored each layer while the negative of the die was over the top panel.  I stacked them 3 high.  The green balloons and gray strings for all the balloons were colored with Zigs, and the rest of the balloons were colored with Spectrum Noir markers.  While the die cut was still over the top panel, I marked the confetti dots with a pencil.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp "It's No Secret" stamp set.  I removed the die cut and added Silver Moondust Nuvo Glitter drops for all the confetti dots.  I added Spectrum Noir sparkle pen then Glossy Accents to the balloons for added dimension.  I trimmed the top panel and adhered it to a GKD card base, then added the strips of foiled pp to each side.  I plan to send this to someone very special!

I will enter this in:
