Love You with Memory Box Daisy Blossom Stem

Hello and welcome!

I'm up on the Memory Box blog today with this beautiful floral and woodgrain mini slimline card made with the newly released "Daisy Blossom Stem" die and the "Love You Posh Script" die.

Here's a closer look at my card:

Here's how I made this card:

1)  Cut a piece of Memory Box "Kraft Woodgrain" card stock to 3" by 6" and applied Distress inks direct to paper.  I started with "Tea Dye" then added "Brushed Corduroy" and finished with "Rusty Hinge" making the outside edges the darkest.

2)  I die cut both dies from the "Daisy Blossom Stem" die set 3 times from white card stock.

3)  Next I colored them with alcohol markers and colored pencils to give them depth and a realistic look.

4)  I cut the colored diecuts into pieces of stems and flower and leaves and arranged them on my woodgrain panel.

5)  Once I was happy with the arrangement I started gluing them down with liquid glue and popping some up on foam tape.

6)  I cut the "Love You Posh Script" word die outline twice from white card stock and glued them together.

7)  I cut the thinner word die in the set three times, two from white card stock and once from thick watercolor paper. 

 

8)  I colored one of the white thin word dies with the same green markers and colored pencils that I used on the leaf dies then stacked all 3 together then added them to the outline with glue.

9)  I cut a card base 6.25" by 6.5" and scored it on the 6.5" side at 3.25 so my card base is slightly larger than my woodgrain panel. 

 

10)  I added the woodgrain panel to the card base with double sided adhesive foam and then added some tiny yellowish green Memory Box jewels to finish the card.

I hope you like my card for today.  I had a lot of fun creating it and really love how it turned out.  Memory Box dies are so versatile and beautiful - I really enjoy working with them to create one of a kind cards.
