Creative Expressions New "Doodle Hummingbird"

Hello and welcome!  I am featuring a brand new stamp set from Creative Expressions called "Doodle Hummingbird."  I love hummingbirds and watching them fly - it seems they are suspended in the air so gracefully - this stamp really captures that look.

Here's a closer look:

For the background I used another Creative Expressions die called "Meadow Frame" die cut from 1 white card stock panel and a second card stock panel that I had added Cosmic Shimmer's "Lemon Sherber Lustre Polish to.  I glued the white one on top of the Lustre Polish panel with just a very little yellow visible in some places for dimension.  

The hummingbird, leaves and flower were stamped in black, colored with alcohol markers, then fussy cut out to add to the large background die.  I also cut in-between the wings and glued the back blue wing down but popped the yellow wing up on foam tape for more dimension.  The background teal blue is card from my stash.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set, heat embossed in white on black card.

Here's my second card made almost identically to the first.   Here you can see the "Lemon Sherbet Lustre Polish" oval die that was left over from my first card inserted into the center of the large background die.

You can also see that I placed the flower higher and added another leaf stamp on the right side of the top of the card.

The major difference is the color choices for the hummingbird, but I did the wing exactly the same, the back one glued and the front wing popped up on foam tape.  If you look closely at the yellow oval you can see the incredible shine you get with the Lustre Polishes.  In real life it's so gorgeous!
