Hello, it's coffee date day! It's Angie here today and I'm so excited to be on this coffee date with my super sweet friend, Zelda Cogill! Zelda and I met several years ago on a card forum online and immediately hit it off. When we finally got to meet in person at Creativation, we were like two small children and just couldn't stop smiling, giggling and having a great time. She's just such a lovely person and I feel so lucky to have her as my friend!
Here's one of my favorite pictures from our in person meet!
We were so excited to finally meet in person, we were just a little crazy that day!
So for today's coffee date today, we decided we would both use Super Sponsor Graciellie Designs digital stamp set called "Fresh Start." It's such a gorgeous set and we had lot of fun creating with it!
We never discussed which stamps of the set we would use and LOOK, we both used the same cup and same sentiment.....what do they say.....great minds....! I think sometimes Zelda and I are connected on a completely different level. It's such a special friendship.
Let's get to know a little about Zelda and her project for today!
Hello, I have been a crafter for a very long time and have tried various crafts over the years but paper crafting is a favorite! When I moved to the USA from South Africa 10 years ago I found solace in crafting and I also made new friends through this wonderful hobby. Angie and I met online and I was over the moon to meet her in person at Creativation in 2019. We talked and laughed the entire day and I’m blessed to call her a friend!
Thank you Angie for inviting me to be your ‘coffee date! I had such fun creating this project using the Fresh Start image from Graciellie Design – the only thing that could’ve topped this, would be doing this together in person ❤
Here's Zelda's gorgeous card:
Isn't it just stunning? I just love the colors, design and the dimension she got by added more flowers!
Zelda tells us how she made it:
Now onto my card project: I copied the image a couple of times as I planned to pop up some of the flowers to create a 3D effect. I also resized the image slightly smaller as I wanted a few single flowers on my card. I colored the image with alcohol markers and I also created an ombre background by blending three shades of green ink. I used various dies for the background and to cut out the image and sentiment strip. Foam tape was used to pop up a couple of flowers, and the sentiment. To finish off I added clear droplets.
Supplies used:
And here's one last look up close so you can see those lovely gumdrop gems:I hope you enjoyed our coffee date! Isn't it wonderful when you have a friend who shares your joy of crafting with you? We had so much fun creating our cards!
Just want to leave you with one more of my favorite pictures of my sweet date for today!
Beautiful cards!
ReplyDeleteGreat minds indeed. I'm happy for your friendship it is wonderful to have a friend like this. Both cards are super. Different yet similar. I am always amazed at how designs can be so different using the same stamps.
