It's Your First First Birthday

Hello and welcome!

I have a card today made for my granddaughter's first birthday this month.

She really loves our dog, Zoe, and this stamp from Colorado Craft Company looks a lot like our sweet Zoe.  Whenever Maren is around Zoe, she just giggles and giggles!

The stamp set is called "On the Lookout" by Anita Jeram.  The sweet pup and mouse images on the stamp are sitting on a couch looking out for Santa, but wanted them to be looking at the balloons sitting on the ledge and standing on the "m" letter die cut so I fussy cut them out.

After heat embossing them in clear, I colored them with alcohol markers.  I used pink Tim Holtz Metallic card stock to 1) make a frame around the balloon square, and for the outline part of the letter dies.  The inside letters were die cut from white card stock.  The letter dies are from Memory Box.

The balloons and stamped sentiments are from a retired Simon Says Stamp set called "It's No Secret."

The balloons are stamped with Simon Says Stamp inks.  I also used a flower embossing folder on the envelope flap.  

The stamped white square is backed with several layers of white squares to create dimension and the pup is popped up partially on foam tape.

I hope you like my card for today.  I'm looking forward to her birthday party and finding it difficult to believe it's already been a year since she was born!  Time really flies.
