On the Lookout with Colorado Craft Company

Hello and welcome!
Yesterday I spent the day crafting at a monthly crafty crop that I attend with a friend, it's about an hour from where I live.  This time I was playing with a new to me stamp set called "On the Lookout" from Colorado Craft Company.  Here's another look at my first card:

So for this first card, even though this stamp set is meant for Christmas, I turned it into an everyday card by using the main image from the stamp set and then covered the Santa hat on the sofa with a shortened version of one of the sentiments.

I don't have the matching die so I fussy cut it out and colored it with alcohol markers and colored pencils.  For the background I used a piece of patterned paper that looked like wall shiplap to simulate the wall behind the image and then matted the partial sentiment on a black mat.  (The image and sentiments for both cards were stamped in black and heat embossed them in clear.)

After the card was assembled I added pastel and clear jewel gems from Memory Box to finish the card.

Now here's a look at my 2nd card, which I did make as a Christmas card:

The background patterned paper in red with snowflakes from Scrapbook.com and matted on black.

The image was colored with the same markers and pencils and fussy cut.  The sentiment was heat embossed in white on black card stock then trimmed into a banner.

After popping the image up on foam tape, I added a few snowflake sequins to the sentiment banner, then popped it up on foam tape too.

I hope you enjoyed my cards for today.  I had so much fun creating at the crafty day with this new stamp set.  I just had to get it because my dog Zoe spends most days doing this exact thing - looking out the front room window.  Here's a little picture of her on her daily lookout:

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  2. I can definitely see why this set was important to get! You did a great job making it neutral, as well as doing Christmas with it. Zoe is so sweet and definitely worth immitating.
