Hello and welcome! Today starts a brand new trend challenge at Just Us Girls hosted by Ina!
Here's the trend she has chosen:
I used the Pinkfresh Studio "Diamond Plaid Layering Stencils" with "Worn Lipstick" and "Spun Sugar" Distress Oxide inks and a dome blender. Next I stamped and heat embossed the large floral image from PFS called "Floral Cluster" and watercolored it with Distress Inks and Zen watercolor brushes. After it dried, I die cut it with the coordinating die.
After deciding which part of the floral cluster I wanted on top, I glued it down and then cut off the excess to be used on the bottom. I used the leftover portion on the bottom left hand corner of my panel. I had cut that stenciled panel and the black panel with PFS "Diagonal Stitched" Slimline dies and adhered them together. I added them to a 3.5" by 8.5" slimline card base and added a few gems.
Here's what it looked liked before I added the colored pencils and gems to the flower centers:
Now compare it to the next picture which I took after I finished adding colored pencil to the image and gems to the flower centers.
The sentiment is a digital stamp from Polka Dot Orchard called "Birthday Monsters."
Here's one last look at my card:
I hope you have a chance to play along this week! Please check out our guest and the whole design team HERE to get some inspiration!

ReplyDeleteEchoing the others, Angie: your card is gorgeous! The addition of coloured pencils and gems certainly adds extra pizzazz to your flowers; even so, I think the 'simple' version is equally as pretty! Thank you for showing us the before-and-after; definitely inspired to dust off my pencils!
