I'm up on the Stamploration blog
Hello, it's Angie Cimbalo from Cimbacreativefun here and I'm very happy to be guest designing for today's Throwback Thursday on the Stamplorations blog! For my cards, I used for my inspiration, this card by Helen Gullet, details: HERE.
I really love how she stenciled the background and used a floral cluster with a coordinating word die.
For my cards, I used the same concept, except since I'm a mostly clean and simple gal, I only did a partial stencil background. All three of my cards use the same technique, but vary in color and the floral cluster on each card is from a different stamp set. I like that with this technique, can use any size floral cluster, and stencil any one small section of the background and it still works beautifully!
Here's my first card, done in primarily pink:
1) Distress Ink Tattered Rose inked direct to paper for the "Grateful" word die
2) Same ink color blended over the Brick Stencil in the top left corner
3) Floral cluster is "Floral Bliss Trio" stamp set colored with pastel alcohol markers
4) "Grateful" die was cut 2 from black, one from white and one from pink and stacked
5) Floral cluster was adhered right at the edge of the fading out stenciled ink
Here's my second card primarily in green:
1) Distress Ink Bundled Sage inked direct to paper for the "Grateful" word die
2) Same ink color blended over the Brick Stencil in the bottom left corner
3) Floral cluster is from "Hello Coffee" stamp set colored with pastel alcohol markers
4) "Grateful" die was cut 2 from black, one from white and one from green and stacked
5) Floral cluster was adhered right at the edge of the fading out stenciled ink
And here is my 3rd and last card:
1) Distress Ink Fossilized Amber inked direct to paper for the "Grateful" word die
2) Same ink color blended over the Brick Stencil in the bottom right corner
3) Floral cluster is from "Blossom Sprays #1" stamp set colored with pastel alcohol markers
4) "Grateful" die was cut 2 from black, one from white and one from yellow and stacked
5) Floral cluster was adhered right at the edge of the fading out stenciled ink
I love Helen's style and had so much fun using her beautiful inspiration for my creations!
I'll be back for another "Throwback Thursday" in December, see you then!
