Slimline Card - "I Love Fall"

Hello and welcome!

I was working on some fall cards today and came up with this slimline "I Love Fall" card.

I used the Altenew October Challenge photo for my inspiration:

I really wanted to recreate the vertical lines made by the trees in the photo and I was playing with some birch tree dies that I have, but that idea quickly went by the wayside!

Instead I took three mini Distress Ink in the closest colors I had to the image and dragged them down the length of a thin tall panel of card stock.  After that I took the Altenew "Beautiful Day" stamp set leaves and stamped them in the same colors along with Versafine Clair Pinecone ink.

Since I don't have the matching die for the leaves, I fussy cut them out and added brown marker to the outside edges.  Here's a closer look at my card:

I added the ink striped panel to a tan panel then adhered it to my card base, off center. Next I added thin strips of dark brown card stock on either side.  I die cut the letters (also Altenew) from white, tan and dark brown, and stacked them slightly off center from each other so you can see all three colors.  After adding the letters to the card, I stamped the "I Love" sentiment from Altenew's "Penned Rose" stamp set.  The sentiment is really "I Love You", but I cut off the "you" part - a little stamp surgery in the craft cave today!

Next, I added the leaves to the card, adhering the bottom stem directly to the card and then popping up some of the leaves on foam tape.  To finish off my card, I added clear droplets in a few places.
