Sending Birthday Hugs Shutter Background with Altenew

Hello and welcome!

I have a birthday card made today using a background technique showcased by Zelda, a dear friend of mine, who's work and designs are often featured in Scrapbook.com videos.  A couple of days ago she presented a Scrapbook.com video showing a gorgeous wreath card with what she called a "shutter background."  Here's a picture of her gorgeous card:

Her inspiration came from a home decor item as she tells in her video below:

Well I fell in love with the design and wanted to try my hand at it, so I made my card with the same background technique she uses in the video.  Instead of a wide white frame, I used a thin black frame made with dies from Altenew.  And instead of a wreath, I used Altenew's "Floral Vine" to create a half circle arch with two of the vines.  Here's a closer look at my card:

The images were colored with Altenew markers, linked below.
Instead of a die cut for the sentiment, I heat embossed the birthday sentiment from another Altenew stamp set in white on black card stock and popped it up on foam tape.  Lastly I added a few clear droplets.

I have linked all my supplies below in case you are interested in them.
Here's one last look at my card:

I had a lot of fun CAS-ing the background and design of Zelda's gorgeous Christmas card - you should really give it a try.  Like she says in her video, it's almost therapeutic to cut and glue all those strips of white card stock to the background!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and thanks so much to my friend Zelda for this beautiful design idea!
