Hello and welcome!
I made 2 card using the "Spring Flower Burst" stamped die set from Simon Says Stamp.
This first birthday card was made with white embossing and Zig Clean Color markers.
I actually made a huge mistake because I stamped the image in black ink and then I thought I was grabbing my clear embossing powder but, alas, it was white! So I had a white on white mess! This was not how I intended this card to look at all, but in the long run I ended up with two cards instead of one!
I decided to salvage it by inking blending it with Distress Oxide inks. I colored the flowers with zigs and the whole card just looked really weird so I took the die from the set and cut the floral stamped image out of the inked background and used it as a separate piece on this first card.

The sentiment is from Your Next Stamp's "Photo Booth" heat embossed in white on black card stock.
I added lots of Wink of Stella to the colored image but it's hard to see in the photos.
Here's another look:
Okay so now I have an inked panel with the image cut out, so here's how I used it to make a 2nd card. I took that inked panel and inserted another of the same image that I had stamped on black and heat embossed in gold. I put it right where I cut the other one out and taped it together on the back. Next I cut the panel with a dotted rectangle die then popped it up on foam tape to the card base.
Here's that card:
I added more gold with a paint pen and then popped the sentiment from SSS "Beautiful Flowers" on foam tape. Here's a closer look at the details:
And one last look at my 2nd card:
I hope you are staying safe and having time to spend with loved ones and hopefully get a little crafting it too. I wish you all a happy and fulfilling week and pray that soon our world will get back to normal. God Bless you all and thanks for stopping by!
I have linked my supplies below if you are interested in them.

So glad I'm not the only one who tries to salvage a mistake. Great save here and I like how you made the 2nd one work. No one would know it was the result of a mistake unless they read your blog.
ReplyDeletetwo beautiful cards Angie. You would never guess that you had made a mistake. Both cards look amazing.
ReplyDeleteSo very elegant! I love the beautiful color choices. The embossed gold really stands out. Thanks for joining us at The Sisterhood of Crafters!
ReplyDeleteBoth beautiful! The black card is super stylish and dramatic, but I think the multi coloured one just edges it in my eyes. Thanks for playing at AAA Birthday, hope to see you join in with future challenges too. Keep safe, stay home and craft instead!
