Rest & Relax - Joy Clair Shadow of the Almighty - Color By Faith

Hello and welcome!

I'm up on the Joy Clair blog today with a card featuring the new stamp set called:  Shadow of the Almighty.  It's one the new Color by Faith series stamp sets released at the end of last month.

And here's how I made my card:

1)  Watercolor a few pieces of watercolor paper with colors you want to use by putting down some color and then spraying water on it, then smooshing your paper into it.  I dry between layers and colors to get a clean look and to avoid a muddy mix of colors.  I used Leisure Arts Watercolor makers  and water for my panels.

2)  Stamp the umbrella, sun and chair on the dried watercolor paper and on your card top panel.  Fussy cut out these for paper piece on your card top panel.  

3)  Also stamp on masking paper, one chair and one umbrella and fussy cut them out.

4) After stamping the sun, chair, umbrella and sentiments where you want them on your top panel, paper piece the watercolored fussy cut pieces on them.  I used blue and green for the umbrella, pink for the chair and yellow for the sun.  As you can see below, I was trying to decide between the pink or the blue watercolored panel for my umbrella.  At first I was using the pink and in the end decided to go with the blue umbrella.  (Now I'll have a left over pink one for another card!)

5)  I took a  stitched border die and cut a coastline twice and then inked the water blue and the sand a tan color with clarity stencil brushes.

6)  I pieced the card together on a card base, then added a shadow under the unbrella with Zig markers and added dark reddish wood color Zig to the chair.

7)  Lastly I added Glossy Accents to the sun for fun!
