Smile It's Summer with Your Next Stamp

Hello and welcome!
I'm so excited that summer is here...yes, I'm a teacher, but now I am really retired!
So this summer is especially special!

I made this fun summer card by inking watercolor paper with Distress Oxide inks in yellow and orange and used 2 stencils, one called Dot Fade from Tim Holtz and a 2nd plaid from Echo Park.
I wanted the color to fade out as it got to the top and I was very happy with the way it turned out.
I also sprayed some water on it.  Here's a closer look so that you can see the water splashes.

Next, I stamped the cute critter from Your Next Stamps's Flowers and Smiles stamp set and the sentiment from Your Next Stamp Photo Booth stamp set. The die cut is from Simon Says Stamp and I stacked 3 for dimension.  I stamped everything with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and then colored them with Zig Clean Color Markers.  I added some gems in the flower centers, blackened the eyes, nose and mouth with a black marker, and sparkle pen to the flowers and butterflies.

I plan to enter this in:

Your card has a such a great background. Summery and fun, perfect for the YNS challenge. You will have to play along with our latest challenge and create another ombre background.
