For my project I made a Mardi Gras gift pillow box!
Here's how I made it:
1) I started by taking a piece of Yupo paper and put alcohol inks and blender solution on it. I moved the ink around with my heat tool.
2) I added some Deco Foil in Gold and Emerald Watercolor before it completely dried so the foil would stick to in in some places. I love to do this because it comes out different every time you do it!
3) Next I cut the pillow box from purple card stock with a die in my stash.
4) I cut a circle from the front so I could put a piece of acetate over the circle window.
5) I stamped the masks from Joy Clair's new "Unashamed" stamp set, then cut them out and popped them up on the box with fun foam.
6) I took part of the alcohol inked paper and punched tiny stars and music notes from it to add to the box, along with the cut out masks.
7) I inked curling ribbon in green, purple and gold colors for the Mardi Gras look then tied the around and curled them with scissors.
8) I cut a piece of the left over alcohol paper and lined the back of the box with it so it would show through the window, then added lots of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Bright Gold.
Here are a few more view of my project:
I will add dark chocolate Hershey's kisses in the purple foil wrapping to the inside of the box and give it to a friend for a fun Mardi Gras gift!
I had so much fun making this project, even though I was covered in inks and made a huge mess - this project was a much more colorful project than my normal Clean and Simple style - and that made it challenging AND fun!
