Hello and welcome! I'm here today with my design team card for this week's challenge over at Just Us Girls - Word Week - and the word is "Tag", chosen by our host Nancy!
Be sure to stop by the blog here: to see our guest designer, Tenia and the rest of the DT's inspiration for you!
I decided to make a card with a tag on it. I cut one from Strathmore smooth card stock and used another piece to lightly stencil a brick background, then chose my stamp sets: the flowers from Altenew's Golden Garden stamp set and a sentiment from Simon Says Birthday Flowers set.
I put the tag on the card layer with some removable tape and then stamped and heat embossed them so I could watercolor the flowers with Zigs and a water brush. I removed the tag and inked it with various inks to try to match the Zig pink color, then punched a hole in the tag and added the twine. I popped the tag up to give it some dimension and interest. Here'a close up of the tag:
Then I cut the flower panel with a scalloped rectangle die from MFT and used foam tape to adhere it to the Gina K Designs card base at an angle. I'm trying to build my stash of birthday cards - I always need them!
Here's another view:
Thanks so much for stoping by and I hope you will join us this week for "Tag" week!
