Just Us Girls #423 Galaxy Background Challenge - You're a Star

Hello and welcome!

There's a new challenge starting today at Just Us Girls - it's Trend week hosted by Sue!
Challenge #423.

Hop on over the the JUGS blog and see what our guest designer Cathy and the rest of the JUGS DT have put together for your inspiration!

For my card, I used the Winnie & Walter "Classic Sci-Fi Star" stencil with some Dreamweaver Glossy White embossing paste to create background for my scene.  I added lots of Distress Inks, water, and shimmer spray along with white paint splatters.  I cut a circle and a circle frame with Sizzix Circle Framlits dies and then put the background together on my card.  I stamped and colored the little astronaut from MFT's "Space Explorer" set with prismacolor pencils.  I put him in the background then stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's "Seeing Stars" stamp set.

I've only made a few galaxy or night time backgrounds in the past so this was definitely a challenge for me!  There are so many videos on YouTube showing different ways to create one - I had a lot of fun watching all the different methods people use to come up with basically the same thing!

Hope you will find time to enter the challenge HERE!

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Here's another view and thanks for stopping by!

  6. Your little astronaut is cute. He reminds me of Elroy on the Jetsons. (I had to Google his name because I couldn't remember. LOL) The night time background turned out great too!

  7. Oh my goodness! This card could not help but be totally smile-inducing! I love that astronaut and his facial expression. I also thought it was so clever of you to arrange him as if he's looking in on us from outer space. The galaxy background you created is gorgeous, so even though it was challenging for you, I assure you that you nailed it! LOVED this card and am so glad you took the time to share it with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
