Happy Birthday To You - Stretching Your Background Dies with Altenew

Hello and welcome!

I recently purchased the Altenew Medallions Layering B die from Simon Says Stamp and have been having a lot of fun playing with it.  I made several cards using is as a background, but then spent some time, cutting it out and cutting it into pieces to see if I could come up with a more CAS creation using the same die.  Here's what I came up with:

 I cut the die from pink fun foam, white card stock, watercolored card stock (watercolored with inks and water) and from card stock that had also been ink blended with blending brushes.
I used the colors in the August Altenew Inspiration Challenge.  Then I cut the center flower out and use other pieces here and there from each of the big cuts.

I stacked the burgundy inked one on top of the pink foam, backed the openings in white, added the center flower which was paper pieced from the burgundy and watercolored paper.  I cut lots of little pieces and played with it until I was happy with the look.

Then I used the sketch over at CAS(e) This Sketch #337 for my card.  The sentiment is also from Altenew and the leaves are from my stash.  All my supplies are linked below if you are interested.

This was a lot of fun to cut and play with and a new way to use one of my background dies.

Enjoy Your Day CAS Floral Card
